Tribute to the Memory of Madam Eva Sai by Regina Adjei-Baffour (Regina Okutu) I grew up to know Madam Eva Sai as Auntie Eva. We lived together at South La Estates as neighbours - herself, her mother, her children - Baaba and Eddie ( prior to relocation of her family to Dworwulu some years back ). I soon realised that the relationship between the two families was more than just being neighbours - a long lasting friendship and bond had been formed. We acted as though we were blood related and this relationship has existed until now - it did not change even though they moved to Dworwulu. Auntie Eva was an auntie in the real sense of the word - unless she was not in Ghana, she was present during every occasion of the Okutu Family - whether joyous or sad - giving her full support. She gave encouragement and counsel whenever needed. Our family lost an elder sister in December 2019 in the US, she had been in the forefront assisting the family with arrangements for the funeral sercice at Epiphany, Kaajaano, Osu. We have lost a germ - her death has come as a shock, it is difficult to accept the reality but then, what have we humans got to say - the Almighty God knows best because he has planned everything the way he deems fit. We will therefore give thanks to the Almighty God for making it possible for us to have known and associated with Auntie Eva in her life time, it has indeed been a privilege. I am picturing her face and her infectious smile ............ her teasing and jokes......... Auntie you will forever remain in our hearts, rest in perfect peace in the bosom of our heavenly father till we meet again on that glorious day. Regina 28th December, 2020.
